Ravenous zine is a printed magazine for women to connect with the wild within. through visual art, feature articles, and interviews, with an emphasis on activism & self care, it explores the archetype of the wild woman as put forth by Clarissa Pinkola Estes in her iconic work, Women Who Run With the Wolves.

The zine is populist & Earth focused, yet it contains a highly stylized woodsy, dark aesthetic that mirror the wild, earthy, feral elements of femininity that are absent from modern mainstream culture. At its core, it's about reconnecting to our wild nature by gathering in circles, participating in activism, cooking and making crafts. it's a manual for face-to-face, in person gatherings in this age of social media and physical disconnection.

It's about peeling back the layers and uncovering the ways of the of wild women of antiquity who were largely snuffed out in the Inquisition and in the many centuries of witch hunts. During that era, the patriarchal forces took over and the church did its best to suppress and eradicate the intuitive powers of women. The deep rooted suspicion it instilled remains pervasive in mainstream culture today, manifested in the fear and jealousy of other women, the fear of living a creative life, and the fear of taking creative chances.

The first issue of Ravenous zine explores the ways that we can help each other combat these fears through community, sharing, reinforcement, planning and intention-setting. It offers a guide to the formation of our own circles to work through these issues together rather than remaining separated as the patriarchy continues to profit by selling us products that we can often do without or create ourselves. It also explore the history behind women as a remedial force and how we can tap back into the sacred energy we possess as healers in a modern world that is so separated from the wild.
